So.
Yesterday afternoon, I turned in my two week's notice to SEARS.
This has been a long time coming. I've been increasingly unhappy at SEARS ever since the start of the year, and the time had come for me to move on.
The good news is, I have a new job lined up. I begin working there next month, shortly after I have a vacation in Maryland to see my dear friend . It's a bagel store, literally five minutes from where I live, and the schedule is decidedly less tight than SEARS.
It's my sincerest hope that this will not only allow me to get back to speed on my fan-work projects and taking care of things here, but further offer up the opportunity for me to start pursuing the possibility of actually making some kind of living off my art.
All of which is to say, I'm in the middle of some big changes right now, and there may yet be bigger ones to come. But I know, with all the good friends I have here, I can see it through. Wish me luck, everyone. 2015 is going to be very interesting.
EDIT: Well, today marked my last day at SEARS. As mentioned, now I'm going to be heading to Maryland to visit , and I leave in the morning! My computer will be with me, and I may even be able to use the train ride as a chance to catch up on my inbox, and I'm even hopeful I'll be able t'get some writing done, but obviously the main thrust of the trip is seeing my friend, so don't expect me to be too active online for the next few days. Hope you all take care 'o' yo'selves while I'm gone. ^_^
Oh, and for those wondering how I celebrated my last day at the store:

Ain't That Always The Way? UPDATED
Every time I start building up momentum on Catching Up here, something has to come along to knock the wind out of my sails.
In this case, it's because, being as I am in just the right spot in Massachusetts to have been hit hard by our second Noreaster in as many weeks, I am currently without power, and likely will be for at least the next few days. So, while I'll do what I can to stay connected, don't expect too much activity from me for a bit. XP
But hey, in Good News, I did get a new job. 8D So look forward to hearing more about that once things settle down. ^_^
EDIT: Power is back on as of last night. ^_^
Where Was I?
Apologies for going quiet here again over the last few days. For once, though, it's not directly my fault. Indeed, to quote Gandalf:
Basically? I almost got suckered in to an Internet Security scam earlier this week. I caught on before The Point Of No Return, fortunately, but unfortunately I got far enough in that I had to take my computer into the shop (a local Staples, specifically) to have it looked over and cleaned out of any potential viruses or malware that might have gotten ported onto it in the process. I just got it back this morning (and all is well, thankfully), but in the interim I've had only limited access to the internet,

Welcome one and all to the 2018 Edition of that old Goji favorite, "Why The Heck Have I Been So Quiet On Here Lately?"
Well, for one thing, my attention's had to move primarily over to finding a new job! The bakery I'd been working at for the last three years closed down at the end of 2017, and I've been out of work since. Still looking into possible new jobs, but as of yet, no luck, I'm afraid. But! I'm doing OK, thanks to my folks takin' care of me, and I'm determined not to give up.
That said, as a reminder, I AM TAKING COMMISSIONS RIGHT NOW
For another, I had to leave town for a little bit earlier this week. My friend Elisto (https://www.deviantart.com/elisto) an

So one of those newfangled meme things I’ve been seeing make the rounds a lot this year, in particular as the end of the year draws closer, is to let those creators whose work, be it art, writing, or otherwise has been meaningful to me this year. I thus wanted to take this chance to showcase my appreciation for all of them. Quite a few of the people listed are good friends of mine, too, but that just adds to the importance of their work to me, and I consider it my good fortune to know them.
To ALL of you, thank you for sharing your creativity with us, and your friendship. You’ve been a big help for me g
