EVE's signal transmitted to the other probes. She had found the WALL-E. As each received the signal, they stopped their individual searches, turning toward the location they'd been given. Like an eery flock of birds, they quickly coalesced together into a single unified group, flying through the Lido Deck. As they entered, moving toward the entrance to the hall leading to the Escape Pod Bay, Auto's monotone voice entered their sensors. "Confirm: the WALL-E has been located?" the wheel asked, watching them move from the Bridge, ignoring Milton's continued grumbling about how past his time limit he was, stupid cyclops.

"Affirmative," EVE-00 replied, leading her sisters toward their target.

"New orders: neutralize the WALL-E unit before bringing it to the Bridge. Do not destroy, but disable movement." They had already lost the WALL-E once...he would not risk doing so again.

"Understood."

With its orders recalbirated, EVE-00 led her sisters toward the Swimming Pool.  The probe's chest then opened up, firing a Tranctor Beam into the water and capturing a portion inside its glowing essence.  Her sisters quickly followed suit.  Now prepared, they swooped gracefully toward the hall leading to the Escape Pod Bay...
Bit of a short one, but important nonetheless.

I don't quite get it...why not just use the tractor beams on their own? WALL-E's been on Earth 700 years, and we know he can survive in rain storms without damage to his electrical systems, do they plan to use the water to immobilize him?
