Thank you.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. D: I don't mind THAT spoiler.
(This instant prince thing is weird. It haunted the Super Mario anime too. >3> I wonder if it should be a trope.)
As for this drawing, the (part of his left hand that is not his fingers) could be longer, and he seems to be missing one finger on that hand. But the perspective looks real nice. I agree that it's exaggerated on the far hand, but it also immediately registers, if you get my drift.
Also, your style of lines suit a character like him. You often mark a lot of detail even on cartoons, and I just noticed that while that sometimes makes other characters look worn /tired (because of the "lined face" effect) or adds confusing detail, characters like Scorpan are supposed to look like that, and it adds to him looking rough.
I think you'd benefit from studying details of hands and muscle, but you have a really good eye for dynamic motion and "balance" (both in a single character and in combining them, on that note). Characters rarely if ever get that "tilting" problem in your drawings.
Fun fact: skorpan in Swedish means "the rusk" and was the nickname of a little boy in this book. The Swedish dub of Midnight Castle pronounces Scorpan's name the same way which makes it hard for me to keep a straight face.
(And ah yes, the "Super Mario" ending. I can tolerate the "instant prince" thing if it's sown into the plot like, say, the "Howl's Moving Castle" anime, but the way MLP and SMB used it as a cheap, abrupt way to brush over what might otherwise be thornier issues is annoying to the extreme. lP; And if it isn't a Trope already, it should be. XD)
And thanks. I stuck my neck out with the perspective here, which is to say I didn't know going in how successfully I could pull it off, and I appreciate the honesty everyone's approached that with in their comments, including yours. ^_^
Thanks as well about the lines. I honestly was going for a sort of Topcraft (the studio who did "Thundercats", "The Last Unicorn", and the "Hobbit" cartoon) look here, giving a good deal of detail to Scorpan's fur and flesh to create that sort of gnarled, rugged look you describe.
Huh. That IS a fun fact, and I am happy to learn about it from you. :3 Congrats on scoring the old dub, too. ^3^

Yeah, HMC had a context that made it easier to understand.
I am a fountain of useless but entertaining knowledge. And woo yeah, I was happy to get that VHS ;_; I didn't realize as a kid how freaking FAST everything happened (I mean it could have been stretched out over five or ten eps!) but it was lovely to hear those old voices again. ^^ From the time when Swedes knew how to dub properly (and sing).
X3 That's a fountain I'd like to drink from. ^_^ ...please ignore how lewd that might sound. >_>;
ANYWAY. PONIES. Glad you're happy with the tape.

I sure am. Lovely old-times dub. <3
(Btw, the other ponies' Swedish names weren't quite as inventive as for AJ - Twilight was Stjärna (star); Bowtie was Skuttis (skipper or bouncy... likely because that was her main skill...); Firefly was dubbed Silver for some reason, and Medley was Mellis (likely short for melodi; melody) They may not have been that witty all the time, but I still somehow think it was fun that they tried to give the ponies Swedish names.
